The SPV is a solar powered vehicle made out of aluminum structure with flexible thin-film modules fixed to it. It’s sleek, it’s futuristic, it’s kinda remind us about Nuon solar car from Delft University. The shaft in the centre of the SPV functions as an inbuilt cooling system, integrated in its form. The aerodynamic form allows it to collect energy through a long drive in the desert (or any sunny environment). Hence not only that it is powered by solar power, this car can also recharge your home power, with the extra energy collected using its solar panels.

City Context is a combination of a solar-powered street light and a trash bin. The main goal of this design is to bring a bright and clean environment in big city. It’s not easy to maintain a clean environment especially in a big city, thus, making public waste containers are very essential infrastructures. This design embeds a trash bin within the street light to help pedestrians easily find the bin by the light. It encourages people not to litter since they can easily find the trash bin for every 10 meters along the road. Each bin is marked with different colors and icons to label the waste type.

The garbage collectors easily manage the bin by using magnetic cards; this mechanism also helps reducing any accidental knocked over by pedestrians or animals.

Luce in Italian means light. I guess you can see why it was named like that. Luce is a double solar panel powered laptop-pc made from clear polycarbonate. The solar panels at the top and bottom provide the power for the laptop to work and it will continuously recharging during the day (standby or being used). This wireless device is cable-free, powered by nature, and represent the future for a sustainable development focused on user’s real needs. After mega earthquake in Japan, the designer realized how important to develop natural self-powered devices for the future. Luce is also one of the projects from Fujitsu Design Competition 2011.

The TrakRok is a terrain vehicle which provides a new alternate plan intended for off-road mobility in all seasons. It comes under the category of trike. It consists of enables to have two wheels and is driven independently by electric motors. It has an independent track system which is driven directly. This third propulsion derivative over-shadows snow mobile functions as an all season application. High powered electric motors are used. This propels the rubber track plates and allows highest grip in mud and snow and has a torque power different from the quad wheel counterpart. The product is powered by renewable power by means of hydrogen fuel cell technology. The fuel cells lower the center of gravity. It has two large radiators for cooling purpose. It has a light weight construction using anodized aluminum. This is mainly useful in Steep inclination and stony mud terrain. It can be potentially used in armed forces, Farming, Construction and in Sport Leisure.

Scientists from the University of Liverpool have upgraded an everyday wind turbine with innovative set of spinning solar blades. The entire team, led by Dr. Joe King, unveiled an innovative solution to perplex critics who state wind turbines are useful only while the wind is blowing. Well, their design even doubles the functionality of conventional turbines by integrating photovoltaic technology. The team however faced some problems. There was a real anxiety that the turbines could blind aircraft pilots and anyone living in the vicinity. Besides this, on hot days, the turbines would create lethal solar rays, which could set buildings on fire if concentrated. In order to cope up with such issues, scientists invented a tinted solar panel that does not mirror sunbeams. The team is now resolving on where to install their model solar wind turbine. “We are confident that we could transform the world’s vital renewable energy needs”, said Dr. King.
