Totem is the perfect solution for anyone who lives in a small space apartment or travelers. It is a multi functional modular food system that enables you to prepare and cook by simply stack and flip the units. Due to its simplistic design, this unit allows you to perform in any situation; in fact, it doesn’t require main power source since the exterior has been coated with EnSol, spray-on solar cell technology. Totem is capable of performing various kitchen tasks in any location by stacking flipping, and building the units for your specific requirements. It uses less energy and space. Even when you are in remote locations, you can still use this cooking device.

Each unit has the same capabilities to cook, clean, chill, and freeze. However, the orientation of each unit determines the mode. If you want to bake a cake, just combine several units together to form a hexagon. If you want to fry something, just flip it.

Luce in Italian means light. I guess you can see why it was named like that. Luce is a double solar panel powered laptop-pc made from clear polycarbonate. The solar panels at the top and bottom provide the power for the laptop to work and it will continuously recharging during the day (standby or being used). This wireless device is cable-free, powered by nature, and represent the future for a sustainable development focused on user’s real needs. After mega earthquake in Japan, the designer realized how important to develop natural self-powered devices for the future. Luce is also one of the projects from Fujitsu Design Competition 2011.

Scientists from the University of Liverpool have upgraded an everyday wind turbine with innovative set of spinning solar blades. The entire team, led by Dr. Joe King, unveiled an innovative solution to perplex critics who state wind turbines are useful only while the wind is blowing. Well, their design even doubles the functionality of conventional turbines by integrating photovoltaic technology. The team however faced some problems. There was a real anxiety that the turbines could blind aircraft pilots and anyone living in the vicinity. Besides this, on hot days, the turbines would create lethal solar rays, which could set buildings on fire if concentrated. In order to cope up with such issues, scientists invented a tinted solar panel that does not mirror sunbeams. The team is now resolving on where to install their model solar wind turbine. “We are confident that we could transform the world’s vital renewable energy needs”, said Dr. King.

Ocean Empire Superyacht is really a state of the art Superyacht catamaran. This solar hybrid yacht has been designed with 2 hydroponic farms and fishing facilities to harvest the sea. You really can stay as long as you like on the sea in this yacht without being afraid of running out of energy to live. This luxurious yacht hotel energy is supplies from 3 main sources: the sun, the wind, and the wave.

The first and foremost source of energy is from the Sun which powers Solar Cells (covering the entire surface of the vessel) while at the same time illuminating 2 Hydroponic farms.

The second source is energy from the Wind which powers an auxiliary automated SkySail that drives the Ocean Empire to 18+knots while charging her GM ESS2 batteries through power sailing KER.

The third source is energy from Waves captured through Motion Damping Regeneration (MDR). A new form of ATMD (Adjustable Tuned Mass Damper) developed in collaboration with Maurer Sohnes Gmbh

Using these 3 energy sources, this yacht reduces its need in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions drastically.

When power would be the most concerned issue for future civilization, designing energy efficient product is not enough; rather, power generating systems that can transform natural energy into usable power is more important. Aard concept combines a wind and solar power accumulating system into a sleek and simple product with a goal to contribute to the future power requirements.

This concept with a round shape features flexible photovoltaic modules that can accumulate solar power during daytime, also when wind gets strong, the ball starts with spin and produces electricity through the dynamos with each of the eight wings. The aluminum construction with basic blue color have given the product a beautiful look that can complement to the urban architectural environment as well as areas that are covered by nature. Moreover, the round shape of the product eliminates the need of turn and adjusting it according to the direction of sunshine.

You are such an extreme music lover that you never forget your MP3 player along with your favorite portable speaker set wherever you go. But what good can your portable speakers bring when you are hiking or camping in a jungle where there’s no power source? Batteries? I don’t think that would be a good option considering the cost non-efficiency. The solution is Eco Ball, a sustainable portable sound system concept that can charge itself from the solar energy anywhere you go and provide seamless music with distinct and high quality sound. Moreover, the stylish appearance and intelligent construction along with the ease of carrying the speaker with the help of the carry belt have made it an indispensable part of music lover’s life. When not in use, the bright colored, round speaker remains attached with the shoulder strap to ensure ultimate carrying convenience. When its time to enjoy music, it can be divided into two parts to get true surround sound.
