Sigma Japan has announced its 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM image-stabilised fast telezoom is now available in Pentax K-mount and will be available in Sony Alpha mount from the end of this month. In the US market, they will be available from mid-December and January respectively at a retail price of $2,470. The company has also announced its EF-610 DG ST flashgun will be available for Canon cameras from December at a recommended retail price of $400.

Sony has issued a firmware update for its NEX-VG10E camcorder that enables autofocus with Alpha-mount SLR lenses equipped with SSM or SAM motors. Covering 14 lens models, AF compatibility also requires a separate update for the LA-EA1 Mount Adapter. The firmware is available now for free download from Sony’s website.

Tokina’s UK distributor Kenro has announced the AT-X 116 Pro DX 11-16 mm f/2.8 lens is now available in Sony Alpha mount at a recommended retail price of £740.25. Tokina’s first lens for Sony’s Alpha mount offers an equivalent focal length of 17-25mm and features a ‘One-touch Focus Clutch Mechanism’ allowing users to switch between AF and MF by pulling the focusing ring towards the camera.

Cosina announces F and K adapters for Sony NEX

Cosina has announced Voigtländer-branded adapters to connect Nikon F and Pentax K mount lenses with Sony NEX-5 and NEX-3 camera bodies. They provide only a mechanical connection between the lens and body, so only lenses with a manual aperture ring will be fully compatible. Priced at ¥19,800 (~ $235), the F mount adapter is currently available, while the Pentax version will start shipping from October 10, 2010.

Sony has announced its 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 OSS E-mount telephoto lens will be available from September 10, 2010 at an estimated retail price of $800 in the US and £699 in the UK. The image-stabilized zoom lens with an equivalent zoom range of 27-300mm is designed for the company’s NEX series of interchangeable lens cameras and camcorder. It will join the existing line-up of E-mount lenses – the 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 zoom and 16mm F2.8 pancake wideangle.
